Question
What EDA tools do you use?
Answer
I use the open source gEDA/PCB tool chain.
The tools are
gschem for schematics and
PCB for PCB layouts.
The project webpage is at
gplEDA.org.
gEDA/PCB uses open file formats which makes a variety of design
automation tasks possibly. ASCII files makes automation easy. All of
my footprint library and schematic symbols are produced by
scripts. Storage and retrieval of BOM and manufacturing data is scripted.
The documentation process is automated with a Makefile and additional
scripts.
