Notes
These cases shaped like musical notes can be used to house a variety
of projects including musical instruments (Design Patents D571,393 and
D569,897). The cases can be built to house electronics in the corpus,
stem or flag of the note.
The note case that is shown is used to house a Theremin. For this
particular design there is only a pitch antenna which is mounted in
the stem. The note mounts to a base which houses the control
electronics.
Theremin Board
The circuit design used for this board is based on the "Build the EM
Theremin" article written by Robert Moog that was published in the April
1996 issue of Electronic Musician.
The following changes have been made --
- The volume antenna and associated circuitry have been removed.
The output of the mixer diode is buffered and amplified to
synthesizer line levels.
- The transistor bias points have been changed to enable the circuit to
run off of a ±5V supply. The EM design used a ±12V
supply.

About the Wood
All of the wood used is reclaimed. The Oak and Norway Maple were
harvested from local trees that were discarded. The Mahogany is
from construction scraps.
